A: RIVER MOUTH III: Cypher Circles is a 4-week series of free, interactive workshops focused on spoken word, rap, and poetic performance. It is designed for youth aged 12-18 from the Malton community in Mississauga. The program culminates in an optional youth showcase and a finale concert featured acclaimed Mississauga Hip Hop artists.

A: The mission of RIVER MOUTH III is to ignite creativity, build confidence, and foster community belonging among youth through Hip Hop arts. It aims to provide accessible, high-quality arts opportunities that resonate with youth culture and interests in the Malton area.

A: The workshops will take place at the Malton Youth Hub in Mississauga. They are scheduled to run weekly from October 2-23th, 2025. The kick-off concert is on October 2nd, and the finale concert is on October 25th at The Rec Room Square One.

A: The workshops will be structured around three thematic tracks to ensure progressive skill development: Foundations (freestyle, rhythm, beats & bars), Lyricism & Writing (poetic devices, storytelling, rhyme), and Performance & Delivery (stage presence, breath control). Participants will engage in hands-on activities, writing exercises, and performance practice.

A: The program will be led by experienced spoken word artists and educators. Featured facilitators and potential artists include Testament (Ontario Poet Laureate), J.O. Mairs, Heavy G, Junia-T, MDRA, Rich Kidd, RaSoul, Nilla, Theo3, gee., Switch B, and SRE (UNITY Charity). Straight Goods is also the official River Mouth DJ.

A: The project aims to engage 50+ Malton youth, with expected outcomes including a 40% increase in rap/spoken word performance skills, a 35% increase in public speaking confidence, and a 30% increase in community connection among participants. These outcomes will be measured through pre/post surveys, attendance tracking, feedback forms, and instructor evaluations.
