The name "Mississauga" comes from the Anishinaabe word Misi-zaagiing, meaning "[Those at the] Great River Mouth." As an homage to the City of Mississauga, this event showcases Mississauga rappers and beatboxers with an endless flow of lyrics and creativity.
Special thanks to the City of Mississauga's Culture Division for the Live Music Grant to enable this collaboration. And as we continue into 2024, we have to extend our appreciation to the Mississauga Arts Council for their SNAP! Support.
RIVER MOUTH II
RIVER MOUTH is an immersive 40oz Heroes content party that features world-class Hip Hop talent. In partnership with P.E.A.C.E. and UNITY Charity, there will be showcases featuring rappers and beatboxers from the local 905.
With 2 in-person opportunities to audition for the River Mouth Cypher, we are engaging 3 Wards of Mississauga for this special 50th Anniversary event. Community members have an opportunity to showcase and support the show.
Our Host: Testament
The glue of Mississauga and a man with mega miles on the mic. There's nobody that keep an audience engaged like Testament. Through his continued work in schools and the community, Matthew "Testament" Jones has been instilling a lasting sense of leadership and commitment to positive music and messages.
We are blessed to have him hosting RIVER MOUTH II.
